"I know my value. Everyone else's opinion doesn't really matter." The first season of Agent Carter wrapped up in a very emotional way, Peggy confronted her own demons, since she decided to move on & let Steve go.
The episode could possibly be the last we see of the adventures of our courageous female agent, because a renewal is not in the talks, yet.
'Valediction' was an episode with immense value for the overall-plot, since Howard Stark was publicly redeemed & Dr. Fennhoff & Dottie, stopped. On the contrary, Peggy & the SSR agents were supposed to face & I quote: "the full fury of Leviathan", but it never happened. I'm not willing to accept that those two are the only ones that can represent Leviathan, a powerful secret criminal organization.
If a season two happens, the writers must prioritize the development of Leviathan as a whole, because its what's right for the series & could connect even more with The Black Widow Program.
Our favourite playboy, Howard Stark, showed us an emotional side on the season finale, since he felt guilty of the lost of Captain Rogers, he wanted to find him so bad that he fell easy for it when Dr. Fennhoff hypnotised him.
It's worth mentioning, that the Jarvis/Peggy chemistry was at its peak when he gave her Steve Rogers' blood, because he knew it was morally right. Those two are not over, since he assured her that would be honoured to work along her side any time she required his services, that left the door open for more team-ups from our favourite platonic couple on the show.
Peggy said his goodbyes to the love of his life by pouring what was left of his blood on the sea, she was ready to move on & start dating other man, possibly Sousa.
As a fan of the MCU, I was pleased to see that the show managed to stablish even more connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by setting up the beginning of what would become the Winter Soldier Program. We got a glimpse of it on the post-credits, where Dr. Arnim Zola &Dr. Fennhoff met for the very first time on a cell.
In conclusion, the episode delivered most of what was expected, an entire hour of the beautiful Peggy Carter & her heroic actions.
The verdict from 'Valediction' reflects the impact it had on me as a viewer, as well as plot-related issues.
