"It's gonna be ok, beautiful, I'll show you the way". Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cut Hydra's Heads as if they were hair on a barbershop. They dealt with the fallout from the previous episode; including Skye & Raina's inhuman transformation, Trip's death & possible betrayal from Bobbi Morse & Mack. Oh S.H.I.E.L.D.! we missed you, Peggy Carter kept the sit warm, but you are the true star of Tuesday's nights.
I'm proud, S.H.I.E.L.D. made a consistent move against Hydra & it worked, some high-ranking members are dead & Bakshi is out of the picture, since he relays now in custody of the U.S. government. I got the chills when I saw a reunion of the Hydra Council, the heads of the organization, trying figure out a replacement of Whitehall. Mr. Bloom, The Baroness, The Banker, The Sheik & Dr. Levy discussed the matter & decided that S.H.I.E.L.D. had to be eradicated for good. The Hydra doctor previously made an appearance on the post-credits of Captain America: the Winter Soldier next to Von Strucker, his involvement on the episode established a direct tie-in into the MCU.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started the episode with some background story about the inhuman we saw on the post-credits of the previous episode, his name was Gordon & he was helped to the process of accepting who he truly was after the 'terrigenesis'. Skye's mom was the one that acted as a mentor for him & guide him trough the process.
Everything was great about the episode, I did not want it to end, every moment I spent it shocked & immersed on what I was seeing. Raina became a kind-of feline porcupine with bad-ass attitude. She finally knew what she became, sadly she expected a celestial being, like an angel & not a monster, her looks were affected & she was pissed off. After killing some agents, she talked to Cal & tried to get help, but he was not interested, he only wanted to see how Daisy (Skye) was doing. She almost killed herself & forced the tac-team to finished her off, but in the last moment Gordon appeared & rescued her. It seems that Raina found a new mentor that will guide her . It's pretty obvious that the series will show as a contrast of the adaptation of these two girls, since we know that Sky will have a mentor too. She was in isolation until the blood exams were clear, Fitz knew that something was wrong with her, that she provoked the earthquake in some way, but she still protected her & gave her support. He altered the results, in order to make sure Skye will be off the hook. It's cute they are keeping a secret, but we know for sure it won't last for long, specially with a crazy Simmons that wants to exterminate gifted people, what she now calls plague.
Coulson staged a whole operation with the kick-ass May, because they wanted Bakshi to lead them to the other Hydra operatives, they convinced him trough Lance Hunter that he was hired to be taken out by the Hydra Heads, so he & Mr. Bloom took care of The Baroness, The Sheik & The Banker, Hunter later took down Bloom, putting Bakshi on his way to the US governments' custody. It was a great plan that was set in motion. Does that mean that Levy & Von Strucker are the only Hydra Heads left? Is it a clear connection to the opening sequence of 'Age of Ultron'? Will we see more of Hydra? Where are the rogues Agent 33 & Ward? Graviton was teased on the first season episode 'The Asset', Will a battle between Quake & Graviton happen eventually? Are Mack & Bobbi Hydra or something else? What's their agenda?
In conclusion, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. made an epic comeback, the following episodes will be life-changing,. because they will introduce more of the 'Inhumans' mythology. Also, we will learn what are Mack & Bobbi up to, I'm pretty certain that Hydra will retaliate, I would like to see how.
The verdict from 'Aftershocks' reflects the impact it had on me as a viewer, as well as plot-related issues.
